TRAITS
THIS PAGE IS NO LONGER REALLY VALID - as kjaku are a fully open species now, you may pick any kind of trait to add to your character regardless of it being listed here or not. You may get inspired by whatever was finished on this page if you'd like, of course! Note that "INCORRECT" traits are no longer valid. They are perfectly valid if you want to include them.
NATURAL TRAITS
This was being revamped visually, but I dropped the ball on that and I will no longer be updating this. v_v
> Fur mutations can be used to give a Kjaku (actual) hair, tufts, differently styled fur, manes, etc... This trait is generally pretty loose on restrictions and fur edits can apply anywhere on the kjaku! It's a trait that allows a lot of creative freedom (in moderation).
>Furless and short-haired fall under the fur mutations category! Fur kinds and styles can be mixed in a great variety of ways as long as it follows the mutation's limitations! (Check "incorrect" tab for restrictions/trait limitations.)
>Furless and short-haired areas on a kjaku have VISIBLE SPARK PLATES! This is why you may see part of a kjaku's sparkplates visible in an otherwise very fluffy kjaku. A mix of fur lengths!

> Fur mutations CANNOT add or change the general structure or shape of the kjaku. This means tails and ears, for example, can't be changed too heavily with fur mutations. The general lengths and shapes of these features must remain untouched! However, this can be remedied with an ear, tail, or other mutation regarding the section edited.
> Limb mutations can give kjaku wings, extra legs, wyvern-like wingarms, etc..
* Wing variants include dragon-like wings, fairy wings, and beetle-like wings. These wings are made of the same material as the kjaku's sparkplates, rendering them unable to fly.
*Wings with fingers/wingarms need to have 5 fingers as well!
> The mutations can be placed nearly anywhere reasonable. (check "incorrect" tab for limitations)
> Up to 3 pairs of limb mutations can be added at a time!

> Up to 3 pairs of limb mutations can be added at a time!
> You cannot add anything other than wings/legs/some kind of combination! This means limb mutations don't cover multiple eyes/etc. It also does not cover tails. Multiple tails are a possibility for the tail mutation alone.
> Wings can be stylized in almost any way. However, anything other than fluff in wings should be made of the same material that spark plates are made of. This makes the wings too heavy to be used for actual flight, so functional bat wings with actual membranes for example, won't work!
> Wings/legs cannot be placed anywhere other than the body, so no wings/legs on tails/ears/other legs.
> WINGS CANNOT REPLACE LEGS. It's understandable that it would give a cool wyvern effect, but this kind of occurrence does not happen in kjaku. You may not create your kjaku missing its two front legs just for the purpose of wyvern-ifying them.
> Kjaku shouldn't be given more than 2 pairs of wings at a time.

The multi-head mutation is.. Well, an interesting one! Surprisingly, it's not uncommon to find a Kjaku with more than one head! The multi-head mutation grants a Kjaku an extra head (or so) - and with extra heads comes extra minds too! Separate heads each have their own individuality, and can go on for hours arguing about things. Personality differences aren't the only thing separate heads have- each head may even look different! E.g., one head might be all fuzz and the other might be all spikes and horns.
Horn/spike mutations on a Kjaku grant the creature horns and/or spikes! Kjaku don't really have a use for horns/spikes as animals do, but they can get awfully competitive when it comes to "impressiveness" with horn/spike size and shape. Horns can be any (reasonable) size and shape, with that said, and they can come in any (also reasonable) number. Unlike horns, spikes can go absolutely anywhere on a Kjaku! They can vary in size and quantity as well.
Mutated tails come in all sizes and shapes- from a short stump (or no tail at all) to a loooooong noodle floof tail. Mutated tails are most notable for the fact that it isn't just size and shape that it covers, but quantity as well. With a tail mutation, a Kjaku can have anywhere from a boring 1 tail to a whopping 6 HECKING TAILS?! THAT'S A LOT OF TAILS YOU GOT THERE, PAL
When it comes to "eye mutations", it is purely the shape of the pupil/iris that depends on whether it's a mutation or not. Heterochromia and interesting eye/sclera colorations are not eye mutations. General eye stylization is also not an eye mutation. If a Kjaku has shaped pupils (or iris), it is indeed an eye mutation.
Pseudoteeth mutations are probably one of the most commonly seen amongst the Kjaku society. These mutations are small, but definitely noticeable! With mutated pseudoteeth, a Kjaku's jaw(s) may contain ridges of different size, position, and number than that of the "regular". Pseudoteeth must always be present on at least one of the Kjaku's jaws. Pseudoteeth mutations aren't capable of removing the ridges, though it is certainly possible with the mutation to see a Kjaku with only 1 pair of pseudoteeth! These are so common, that it's often ignored by society as a "mutation" at all.
Tongue shape is definitely another of the more interesting mutations, to say the least. Kjaku are usually never born with mutated tongues. Why is the tongue considered a natural mutation, then? How do they get tongue mutations? According to society, tongue mutations are quite "natural" as they happen most often as a Yipper shifts closer into adulthood. Quite the surprise when they wake up one day to see their tongue has completely changed!... Cool???!
"EYE SEE YOU!" - some Kjaku with extra eyes, probably. The mutation of extra eyes is an unsettling appearance.. For those who don't have those extra eyes, that is! Extra eyes can be located just about anywhere on a Kjaku's face (in reasonable numbers)! A Kjaku with extra eyes may have individual eye mutations/colorations for each pair- e.g. a Kjaku with 2 pairs of eyes can have both slit pupil and star pupil at once. With extra eyes, the creature obviously has better eyesight! Just as long as those eyes are good, I mean..
The ears of a Kjaku are an important aspect indeed! Their ears can range in all sorts of sizes, shapes, and even numbers at times! There's no such thing as an ear-less Kjaku, however. The ears of a Kjaku are sensitive to the smallest of sounds, though they appear indifferent to loud noises somehow! Though the ears of a Kjaku are flexible in movement and noise adjustment, they do not use their ears to express emotions involuntarily (e.g. a sad Kjaku wouldn't have drooping ears unless it really wanted to do that) Humorously, however, some passionately move their ears around just to add an unnecessary amount of drama to their words or feelings.
When it comes to actual teeth mutations, it is awfully particular. Though the teeth can range in size and shape, they always go in the accordance to the Kjaku's pseudoteeth direction. For example, a Kjaku with pseudoteeth pointing purely downward will have fangs pointing downward. This doesn't quite apply to tusks, however, which also fall under the teeth mutation category! Toothy Kjaku are notorious for pretending to be sharks.... How awful!
UNNATURAL TRAITS
The unnatural ooze trait is an odd one, for sure! When a Kjaku has the ooze trait, the goopy slime is secreted through specific places such as its nails, its mouth, or even eyes, in some cases! The most notable aspect of the ooze trait, however, is the fact that the individual itself can control whether it oozes or not! Pretty neat for pulling childish pranks of "mysterious" slime puddles in the halls of school..
Halos are angelic looking unnatural mutations, for certain! The Kjaku may have any amount of floaty rings just about anywhere. Though the Kjaku doesn't gain any actual angel powers with the halos, they're definitely admired amongst the Kjaku society for their pretty appearance. Just grab a friend with some horns and reenact the classic "I can be your angle or yuor devil"!...
Glass segments are a very scientific-looking mutation to most. Just how does that body hold up without shattering?! Kjaku with the glass segments mutation were noted to have these segments in just about any place- from its neck to body to tail- even legs! The secret, however, lies purely in the fact that the glass is a special development by the Kjaku's body of the same element their spark plates are made! The element lacks color unlike the plates, however, and so it allows the segment to look completely see-through! Just like glass!.. Mostly!
Elemental segments are by far, the most bizarre of the bunch. Did you just see a Kjaku with a burning tail? Or a Kjaku who had wings made of grass??? You bet you did! These mutations are generally looked upon by society as incredibly fascinating! The segments were noted to be found on just about any part of the Kjaku's body. Fortunately, the Kjaku doesn't seem bothered by anything! The elements would range from a whole bunch- from electricity to darkness, and some say there are more elements in the mutation being discovered every day!... Let's hope the plain fire tail doesn't really burn anything down first, shall we?!
FALSE KJAKU
"False Kjaku" is a very rare condition to come upon in 1st generation Kjaku. It's largely speculated that the condition was accidentally developed by the Kjaku scientists as a side effect for meddling with genetics (quite the debate on that!).
The term "False Kjaku" refers to a rather interesting condition that a Kjaku may have. Unlike their "true" Kjaku counterparts, those with the "False Kjaku" condition are nearly identical to Yippers! This means that the condition prevents a Kjaku's paw pads from ever shedding out, and the individual grows to be significantly smaller than that of the 'true' fellows.
In contrast to the towering lengths and heights Kjaku can reach, the false Kjaku tends to be tiny and adorable- or at least, some.. (They've got just as much attitude as anyone else!) The condition does not hinder the Kjaku at all apart from when situations call for heights- and sometimes, society claims to "need" their smaller brethren to accomplish great feats! The paw pads of a False Kjaku are, for example, incredibly sensitive to touch and environmental surroundings unlike those of Yippers. This allows the individual to determine their situational safety- be it the strong sense of dangerous vibes from an object/another fellow, or the feeling of footsteps approaching from up to approximately 25 yards away.
When it comes to size, the False Kjaku is the master of slipping through tight spaces! Due to the nature of Kjaku society, what a regular Kjaku considers "impossible to walk through" would likely be cakewalk for a False Kjaku. Additionally, they're known especially well for their incredible agility. Catching a False Kjaku can prove to be very difficult, and as a result, they're often incorporated as an important part of the workforce of society due to their sensitivity and abilities while also being just as formidable as a regular Kjaku!
Due to their incredibly boosted senses, however, it can be quite difficult for them to get used to booming crowds by themselves.
False Kjaku usually have almost unnoticeable claw slits or do not have claws in their entirety.
